Alaska nurse McKenna West, acting as a surrogate for a California couple, gave birth in Texas and is seeking legal protections after alleging the couple tried to force her to have an abortion. Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai’i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky filed a lawsuit in Alaska Superior Court challenging the state's requirement that medication abortions must be administered in person at clinics, arguing it violates Alaskans' right to privacy and abortion access under the state constitution.
